The top-selling Hyundai i30 has had a 2015 facelift, the most significant since its 2012 launch and probably until the all-new model arrives in 2017. The changes include a torquier diesel option, a DCT dual-clutch auto, reverse camera as standard across the range and updated multimedia.

Hyundai is clearly treading water with its bestselling model, and we wonder whether that is a smart move when the Volkswagen Golf, Mazda 3 and Ford Focus are standing in its path. Still, the i30 is probably preferable to the Toyota Corolla, Nissan Pulsar and Mitsubishi Lancer.
